Mukund Rajan is Tata Group’s Chief Ethics Officer
Mukund Rajan has been appointed as the Group
Spokesperson and Brand Custodian of Tata Sons, the promoter firm of Tata Group
companies.
Rajan will serve as the Chief
Ethics Officer and will oversee and manage all corporate communications and
brand-related activities for the Group in India and abroad, according to a
statement issued by Tata Sons. He will also oversee all Tata Group Corporate
Social Responsibility activities as Chairman of the Tata Council for Community
Initiatives.
This is the first major
appointment after Cyrus Mistry took over as the Chairman of
the Group after Ratan Tata retired on December 28, 2012. Rajan
reports into Mistry in his new role which is with immediate effect.
Rajan, 44, started his career
as a Tata Administrative Service Officer and has been with the Tata Group for
over 18 years. Prior to the latest appointment, Rajan was Managing Director,
Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd, Head, Private Equity Advisory, Tata
Capital Limited and Managing Partner, Advisory Team, Tata Opportunities Fund.

I reported about a spurious call asking for a/c payee cheque in favor of Tata AIA Policy related lapsed dividend pay out with Address: A-998, Second Floor, G.D. Colony, Mayur Vihar, NEW DELHI- 110096. Ph.Nos:011-65854117,011- 65854117, Mob.No. 08750249371 & 9953116874 to Mr Cyrus P Mistry, Chairman,Tata Sons.Asking for a/c payee cheque is quiet alarming and since caller's address and land line phones were also provided I thought Tata AIA would seriously think about it. My report has been forwarded to Grievance cell quiet some time back.No communication from Tata's end confirms that they don't take cognizance of it. Tata's commitment about high moral, ethics and sustainability does not reflect in dealing this grave situation.
